A Powder Room by DA
The Powder Room dates back to the time of royalty and powdered wigs. This was where the head pieces were powdered before being presented to the wearer. In the late 1800's the powder room became a sanctuary for women during dining or parties. Here women powdered their noses, checked their hair and makeup and could escape from the business discussions of men and other scandalous talk.
Today the powder room of private homes still holds the same name and purpose in some aspects, but is also reveled by Designers who understand it's powerful potential. Because a powder room is one of the few rooms your visitors see, and because of it's manageable size, it's the perfect opportunity to 'splurge' if you will or 'Go All Out!'. As Lynette likes to say, "Give it the WOW factor!".
